Man due in court on Carroll charge today

A man is due to appear in court charged with the attempted robbery of Andy Carroll

The striker was driving back to his Essex home when he was approached at a junction in Chigwell by two motorcyclists.

The men allegedly demanded his watch.

Carroll, 27, sped off in his Mercedes G-Wagon and returned to the Rush Green training ground four miles away where he raised the alarm.

Today Jack O’Brien, 22, of Dagenham was due to appear in court charged with one count of attempted robbery in relation to an offence on November 2 on Romford Road in Chigwell.

He is also charged with one count of handling stolen goods, one count of aggravated burglary and 13 counts of burglary.

The charges relate to multiple offences in London, Essex and Hertfordshire.
