Man of the Match Antonio well pleased

|
Michail Antonio answered most of the questions asked by us when he made his debut for the Irons against Stoke this afternoon.
And to be named Man of the Match was the icing on the cake of a dream day for the £7 million signing from Nottingham Forest.
He was on it from the start and a familiar buzz of excitement started to rumble around the ground as we realised this was a guy who had power, pace and the ability to turn very quickly, leaving defenders for dead.
Ok, the final ball wasn’t always there but we saw enough to understand that this guy has an awful lot to offer.
He commented afterwards: “It felt unbelievable to get a chance. This was my boyhood dream to play in the Premier League and I’ve managed that.”I got Man of the Match on my first start so hopefully I can keep pushing on and doing well. Playing at Old Trafford last week set me up well for this game. It showed me the level of the league and it was a good 50 minutes.”

“We hit the post with Mauro Zarate as well, so we definitely have the attacking threat, it’s just putting it in the back of the net.

“For my chance in the second half, it came over the top and I volleyed it, but just hit it straight at him. Hopefully in the next game I can put it in the back of the net.”

    Agree 100% bubs !
Moses comment bang on !! Let’s see if when fit he can dislodge the bard !! On merit !!!!
Bilic is a class act and in time will create a squad who will be feared !!

What I like is the 100% effort off the ball and his defending which we don’t get from Moses,
Also he had a better understanding of how Carroll plays and made runs off him all the time
And we may need that until Sakho is fit,
Other defenders are going to hate chasing him all the game he just needs that final touch to be better the same as Zarate,
Yes Kenny today Sunderland and Man U fans had to put up with sub standard football provided by overpaid Managers that think they are bigger then the clubs that pay them and do not understand the Fans
Let’s hope our owners never employ another manager that does not understand what we want, long live Slav,s reign

This was the best 0-0 game I have seen. Fantastic entertainment. BFS kept asking during his tenure at our great club for someone to tell him what was the West Ham way. Take a look at this game Sam and even you will understand.. When Slav made changes it was to win the game and not to hold onto a draw. But the one thing that this game brought home to me was that we do have a squad of depth. Make no mistake, Stoke were a bloody good team and one of the best to visit Upton Park this season. But we could have beaten them without 6 of our best players. And I certainly agree with Johnboy – Antonio was very impressive. His all round display was very encouraging and deserving of more game time. Well done the boys, Slav and S & G.
