Man United Stars Ridiculous Wage Demands

I had to perform a massive double take upon hearing the reported transfer package it would take to sign Manchester United’s Scott McTominay earlier today.

West Ham have been repeatedly linked with a move for the Scotland midfielder over the past few days, and this has been ramped up with the departure of Flynn Downes.

Some may remember that the Hammers were quoted a price of £50M last season when David Moyes was keen on a double deal for McTominay and his Man U teammate Harry Maguire.

The good news is that McTominay’s value has dropped somewhat, and Man U would now accept £35M for his signature. However, his wages would appear to be unrealistic and borderline ridiculous, with numerous reports suggesting the player is demanding £10M per season.

Whilst I can’t claim to know the wages of all the top earners in the Premier League, I’m quite certain that McTominay’s demands would make him one of the highest-paid players in the country. Either the reports are complete and utter nonsense (and I suspect they are), or the Man United midfielder has completely overvalued himself.

Surely the knowledge that he doesn’t have a queue of clubs beating a path to his door, and the fact that he seems to be relying on a bidding war between West Ham United and Galatasaray, should really tell McTominay everything he needs to know.

Getting fed up of reading about mctominay. He was a moyes target, not steitden’s, not loppo’s. We don’t want or need him. We’ve got a packed midfield, unless the superjock can play CB he can jog on

Or wants to stay at Man U pricing him self out of anyone wanting him

Would improve our squad but the cost is untenable. Even if we could afford the package without derailing our main positional requirements, it would create a huge wage structure problem, causing dissatisfaction in the squad. Can imagine Coufal’s reaction 🙂

He scored a goal in the euros and now thinks he’s a superstar
    You are spot on Gonzo

Obviously he is blinded by how good he thinks he is, or he’s just a greedy b’stard! That’s assuming the reports are true.
