Oxford United boss wants to keep highly promising Hammers youngster Marcus Brown on a permanent deal and he may have a half a chance of getting him.

The Us boss has indicated that he thinks it may be a possibility but as is always the case it will rest largely on the youngster’s pre-season and the Pellegrini assessment.

Browne was sent out to get crucial experience and has done particularly well at the Kassam Stadium having played 32 games for the League One club and scored five goals.

Browne has played both in central and wide midfield and has become a big favourite with the fans during an excellent loan spell.

Robinson said: “I don’t know whether that would be a West Ham decision . I’d like to take him on a permanent, that would be the ideal. I’m sure his agent would disagree that we could afford him, but we believe we can.”

That Robinson is talking at a personal terms level suggests that he has indications the 21 year old could be allowed to leave the Hammers.

However, that’s no given as the youngster is a highly promising player and Pellegrini always takes his time making his mind up but at some stage in the summer a decision will need to be made about the player’s destination for the 2019/20 season.
