Manager Moysie snubs chance of a jolly

The Hammers will stay at Rush Green rather than visit an old Dubai haunt!

West Ham’s victorious squad will be getting no break in the  Dubai sun after their win over Watford at the weekend.

With a free weekend looming after the team’s inglorious exit from the FA Cup at Wigan, the opportunity was available to fly off for warm weather training as became a habit under previous managers.

But that’s not part of the David Moyes agenda as the team push towards the safety zone.

Instead there will be little respite from the tough training regime he’s introduced  – never mind Dubai jollies!

Jose Fonte and Manuel Lanzini are looking to follow Marko  Arnautovic and Michail Antonio with first team returns and the manager insists there will be no respite.

He told the club website: “I’ve just said in the dressing room that we’re training hard. We’ve got 30 points which is a big milestone and the next one is 40, so we’re not dropping off.

“They’ll get a couple of days off but, if you ask me, I’d rather be in the FA Cup next Saturday, I really would.”

  1. Another good decision, rewarding players for going out of the FA cup might encourage a few not to give enough next season, well done Moyes !!!
