Parker’s name has been discussed at the top level among the Hammers’ hierarchy as they try to plot a way out of a crisis.”

Scott Parker: former Fulham, Bournemouth and Club Brugge manager
The obvious issue is financial – as an ’employed’ manager West Ham would have to pay Burnley compensation for the former Hammers’ skipper who spent four years at the club in a playing capacity.
It would take a complete David Sullivan ‘U’ turn to pay to bring in his chosen manager at a cost of several millions rather than just one of the out of work freebies. Never say never – perhaps Sullivan is reflecting on the mediocre managers which that policy has landed the club with in the past.
Nevertheless, the report does make a lot of sense from both a West Ham perspective and from Scott Parker’s position: Parker could double his pay and move into a huge role at West Ham.
After spells in management with Fulham, Bournemouth and FC Brugge, Parker’s recent record with Burnley is supreme, just 7 defeats in 56 games. Does he want to take the step to troubled West Ham though? We will, no doubt, find out shortly.
How come Pardew and Redknap are not in the frame?
His record is good in the Championship but he has failed every time in the Premier league. Everyone screaming for Nuno, he is the Portuguese Moyes and gets found out like Moyes did that sitting back and soaking up pressure in the hope of hitting on the break is not a winning tactic in the long run. Sergio Conceicao or Raphael Wicky, both are free which will please our chairman no end.
Out of all the names bandied around Nuno is clearly the best choice. His record speaks for itself. The reasoning for waiting till after the international break is bizarre and shows little respect for the players. Maybe instead of thinking we are going to lose the games why not consider the possibility of a positive reaction to a new manager.
Parker would be another failure, the next manager must be the right choice. Once the candidates are known leave it to the fans to choose
As much as I love Scott Parker, he has prove to have the knack of getting teams promoted from the Championship falling short at premiership level.
Do mr a favour why would we want Scott Parker ??
DiCanio and Antonio might also fill the bill. Stuart Pearce has credentials. Bellamy or Carrick.
Loads of names out there.
Why would Scott Parker want to leave Burnley where he just had a fantastic season getting promoted to join the circus?
Potter should never have left Brighton for Chelsea – now his managerial future seems over (or in the lower divisions)
I know what you mean, but Potter’s got a few million reasons why he left Brighton .. Looks like he’s in for a good bit more paid Gardening leave ..
Nuno is our man, no doubt in my mind
We must not loose him especially when he is not tied to a club
I just wish our owners would put poor Potter out of his misery and let the new manager start working on the team. These 2 next games will give him s chance to look at the team before the break
My heart says YES to Scott Parker as this would be terrific if it all works out…
But my head says Nuno is the safer option.
However at the moment would suffice for now.
Never gonna happen – Sullivan will never put his hand in his pocket to get hold of a manager from another club. I reckon he’d have a stroke if it was even suggested to him…
@Phillip. Maybe that’s why Sully seems paralysed right now then! He apparently can’t respond to normal commands and behaviour and appears frozen when it’s suggested that he should sack Potter immediately. What to must of us seems bleedin’ obvious and just common sense, to Sully is seemingly unthinkable if it costs money. You get what you pay for!
Nothing new with Sullivan being frozen ,, procrastination took control of Sullivan many years ago..He waits waits and waits because he can’t make a decision, then finally he’s forced to make a snap decision which is always wrong
More “next level” candidates. Fantastic.
If we were suddenly willing to make a U-turn and pay compensation for a manager, why not just go all in for someone like Glasner, Silva or Iraola?
Wow, that one sure came out of left field! Interesting though. There’s certainly a lot of respect for Scotty at West Ham but could he keep us in the Premier League? After all, he has been relegated before and Burnley have just one point more than us. Besides, are we supposed to believe that stingy Sullivan would actually pay compensation to get him away from Burnley? I guess his salary demands may not be as big as Nuno’s but then Nuno has a proven record of saving both Wolves and Forest from relegation and then improving their league positions. I would still go with Nuno as numero uno.
NO NO NO THIS WOULD BE TOTALLY WRONG MOVE NUNO IS THE ONLY SAFE BET OUT THERE TO SAVE OUR CLUB SOMEONE WITH BALLS
Nuno….NO NO.
Wouldn’t it cost some compensation to bring Scott Parker to West Ham?
