Manchester United Move in on Hammers Top Target

Manchester United have wasted no time in attempting to replace Erik ten Hag, opening negotiations with West Ham’s top target, Ruben Amorim.

The Sporting Lisbon head coach was the Hammers number one target to replace David Moyes after his departure, with the club even flying him to London for talks. It was revealed at the time, that Amorim was the top target of Irons director of football Tim Steidten.

The Portuguese coach, however, declined the opportunity to join West Ham, with some speculating at the time that Amorim had leaked pictures of his trip to London to force a potential move to Liverpool. But in a twist of managerial musical chairs, the Anfield club ultimately appointed Arne Slot, another long-time Irons target.

While many fans—including myself—were disappointed to miss out on Amorim, I’m not entirely convinced we ever had a realistic shot at securing one of Europe’s hottest managerial prospects.

Now, it appears that Julen Lopetegui’s decisive win over an already struggling Erik ten Hag may result in Manchester United landing the manager West Ham desired all along.

Football ITK Fabrizio Romano today confirmed the move, stating, “Ruben Amorim has given an initial green light to Man United. He’s keen on joining the club, accepting the project and the terms discussed. Amorim respects Sporting… and so it depends on club-to-club negotiation now.

The exit clause for top clubs is around €10m.”

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

Started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

Give West Ham opinions on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus.

Sometimes feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.

I think it’s far more likely Amorim met Sullivan and wasn’t impressed with a low ball financial offer if his past is anything to go by. We have signed some incredible players, now is the time to get rid of Lopetegui, he isn’t going to somehow turn from a pidgeon into a swan, we need to find a manager that plays competitive football, we are slightly worse than we were under Moyes with better quality attacking and defensive players.

For All those managers at Manure, since Fergie, they seem to be unable to manage the massive egos they find in the dressing room-can’t see that changing for a LONG time!
    Karma, Manure fans!🤣⚒️

I’m not sure we were ever on his radar.

The only managers on our radar are those where Sullivan doesn’t have to pay compensation. So he wasn’t really on ours either.
