Manchester United team news and Ronaldo update

By CandH’s northern man Terry Robbins

Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to start our game against Manchester United.

Sources at the club’s training ground have stated the five-time World Footballer of the Year had a visible strop when substituted by interim manager Ralf Rangnick in United’s 3-1 win at Brentford on Wednesday night.

It’s understood the pair spoke at the club’s Carrington training base following a warm down session on Thursday and he was a part of the main Friday morning session.
Ronaldo has been outspoken in recent weeks about United’s dodgy showings, suggesting some of his team-mates don’t meet his exacting standards.
Our United sources have told Claret&H that Ronaldo is likely to spearhead their attack with Edinson Cavani still struggling after picking up an injury during training on Tuesday.
Winger Jadon Sancho missed the game at Brentford for personal reasons, and is likely to be on the bench at best.
Ronaldo is likely to be partnered by Mason Greenwood on the right and Marcus Rashford playing a wide left role.
Fred and Scott McTominay will again be in the United engine room and Hammers boss David Moyes should expect no other surprises.
