Mancini questions London Stadium atmosphere

biliiicmanciniSpeaking to Italian daily newspaper La Stampa this week, Mancini has commented on the atmosphere at the London Stadium after attending last Wednesday’s match when Manchester City put four past West Ham.

‘I believe in the Juventus Stadium effect – the stadium gives Juventus seven or eight points more a season. You want to know what happened at West Ham? The new Olympic Stadium does not have the same atmosphere as Upton Park. There there was a different atmosphere, more noise. I realised this a few days ago when I went to see the match against Manchester City.’

Asked when he would return to management  ‘When will I go back to coaching? I can wait a little longer! But the theory is true that after so many years of work then you become tired and want to do nothing. As soon as I left Inter I had three offers from China, I thanked them but I postponed the matter, now I’m more attracted to other leagues, especially the Premier League.’

  1. You really shouldnt mention Mancini young Sean you will have fans accusing you of undermining Bilic again Lol

  2. I’m glad he doesn’t like the atmos at our stadium. So he won’t want to come back again.
He certainly was not the most charismatic or atmospheric manager of all time, so he knows a bit about it.

  3. He was a superb player though wasnt he.I cant remember whether he played against us for Sampdoria in the Makita trophy at Highbury.I dont think he did. That team who beat us,was it 6-0 or 6-1 was something else.Im sure a club hisborian would know if he played.

  4. So Mancini, who was invited to London by our owners, to discuss the managers job replacing Slaven, thus undermining Slaven disgracefully, returns to Italy and slags off the LS? That’s bloody rude isn’t it? Or maybe he wasn’t invited by the owners at all and wasn’t discussing Slavens job? I wonder if people who open their gobs so quickly just to slag off the board look back and think they look foolish?

  5. I really hope Bilic & the team finish this season strongly.I have never wanted a manager of ours to do so purely to shut up a fella on the other site who thinks he is something of a superstar if he criticises Bilic while being condescending about others who dont.
Us long in the tooth fans who watched the players who then went on to manage us know its a different ball game, the feelings you have for them to succeed is greatly enhanced.Maybe these young roosters with all the mouth just dont get it.All they see is just another manager because they dont get the history.
    Rant over.

    • there is one guy on there who turns every comment into a anti-board rant, I think he has made his point by now. I just don’t think he likes them very much, lol

    • I may be looking through my rose coloured bifocals but it seems ex players who then manage us also understand the club more and seem to be more successful than “outsiders”

  6. I remember the trophy and I remember being embarrased by the score, but not much else. He was certainly a very good player.

  7. Thats almost as bad as the ones who think that if you even dare to question Noble you are a traitor.I must know many traitors if thats the case. The way they make him untouchable is a joke.

  8. He scored a fabulous back heel from a corner to him in Italy once, think he was playing for Lazio then,
