Manu aims to repeat Palace heroics

|

Manuel Lanzini

If statistics mean anything at all Manu Lanzini’s name will be the first on the David Moyes team sheet at Palace this afternoon.

For he has scored on each of his first four appearances for us against them helping to score three victories and a draw, including two winners and a memorable third in a 3-0 home victory at London Stadium in 2017.

Having finally it seems put his injury problems firmly in the past Manu is looking more like his old self and will be looking to continue his great form against the south Londoners if selected today.

It may be something of a toss up as Nikola Vlasic is pressing for inclusion and the manager always appears keen to allow Said Benrahma a start.

However given his stats against Palace there’s a very strong case for involving the Argentinian from the start and he has been discussing things with www.whufc.com.

And he said: “Crystal Palace are always a difficult team to face, particularly away from home. They’ve had some good performances and results there recently, but the way we can play, we have to go there looking for the victory and to come away with the three points.

It will be a really tough game. They’re a good team with good players. I think it will be a really intense game, but we will be prepared and we hope to come away with the victory.”

“It was obviously really good to get back to winning ways ( at Watford) and to get the victory in that game, particularly after the last few games where we’d dropped our level a little bit, so it was something that lifted us and made us feel brighter going into 2022.”
