Manuel Lanzini unused in Los Angeles

Manuel Lanzini was an unused substitute in Los Angeles at 3 am this morning.

Argentina had travelled to America to play Chile in an international friendly but the game finished 0-0 without the Hammer being called on.

The 26-year-old made the 5,500 mile plane journey after being recalled into the 25 man national squad by former Hammer Lionel Scaloni.

The No10 has four senior caps for Argentina, having made his debut against Brazil in Melbourne, Australia, in June 2017, and one goal scored in a friendly win over Italy in Manchester in March 2018.

Lanzini will have another opportunity next Wednesday in Texas when Argentina take on Mexico at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, United States

Lanzini is hoping to re-establish himself in the Argentina squad ahead of the 2020 Copa America, which will be held jointly by Argentina and Colombia in June and July next year.

Let’s hope he remains injury-free in his international endeavours.
