Manuel Pellegrini told reporters post-match at the end of three nil Wolves defeat that it was impossible for West Ham to play any worse.
The manager moaned “No shots on target and we conceded three goals, it is impossible to play worse!”
Explaining further the gaffer said “The first 45 minutes was even for both teams, we had similar possession, they only had one chance which was the header that went just wide of our goal but in the second half, it is difficult to understand what we did.
We were not concentrated, we conceded two goals from set pieces. They had another three or four more chances and we didn’t have a shot.
There are a lot of reasons for us to try and understand what is happening.”

It has been a shocking week even by West Ham standards, to be precise a shocking four days! First came the shocking 3-2 defeat in the FA Cup to AFC Wimbledon, a League one team beaten 3-0 by Fleetwood at home just days earlier, then came the news of the Marko Arnautovic contract extension and pay rise and the media fallout that followed that, this evening came another humiliating 3-0 loss to newly promoted Wolves followed by the devasting news of Arnautovic’s injury as he left the ground on crutches.
To make matters worst it appears some players don’t want to play for the badge and can’t be bothered to put any real effort in. To round the week off we can look forward to doing no transfer business by the Thursday deadline except for Samir Nasri who missed the game today through another injury. Don’t worry we have always got next Monday to look forward to at the hands of Liverpool to make feel special 😉

At least 4 players tonight have been subject to transfer news this month so why bother putting in a shift.Our best 11 are a good team but Pelle has still got a lot of dead wood that he has inherited from previous managers.We need rid and fast.
Talk about a lack of motivation. Half of them are probably being forced to play for us against there will. Last night they looked like their heads were in Spain or Italy or China or wherever it is they’d rather be. Well the windows still open.
Awful , unwilling , uninterested & ****poor . The whole team were playing without an ounce of pride . Anautovic was on the pitch I take it ! . We are loooking at a team with the Moral at rock bottom . Huge task for Pelligrini to lift them up again . Just as well we got the points we did over the festive season . Yet more records made by others whilst ours make dismal reading . Absolutely no positive’s to be gleaned from that performance and Liverpool next up ,,, oh dear oh dear .
