Lucas Paqueta looks likely be staying a Hammer for now as there are few clubs that can meet his £60-£70m valuation.
Manchester City are said to no longer hold an interest so that ship has sailed but there have been no enquires since news broke that he will cleared of spot fixing charges.
Paqueta believes West Ham showed him loyalty by standing by him for the last two years and he would be happy to re-pay that loyalty by remaining a Hammer if the club’s valuation is not met.
A season with the Hammers without an investigation hanging over him could reignite Paqueta’s career and form.
That could line the Brazilian players up for a potential sale in the summer 2026 after the North American world cup if he selected for Brazil.
The Hammers paid Lyon £36.5 million with a potential £14.4m in add-ons for the transfer of the Brazilian who signed a five-year deal with a one-year option.
That one-year option could be activated, and West Ham could be looking to sell Paqueta next summer for between £80m and £85m
What a good lad…
Let’s hope this is true, the best news for both player and club.
Looking forward to the new season now with a bit more confidence.
This is great news, I never understood the narrative that was around prior to him being found not guilty that seemed to just assume we would sell as soon as he was proven innocent. He is a great player and I expect he is going to have an excellent season.
Excellent news, now hopefully his mind will be totally on the job at hand.
West ham should take a leaf out of Man City’s playbook and sue the backsides off the FA for massive financial losses and the paqueta should do the same.
To take two years to come to a conclusion is a disgrace.
Hopefully we might get the old player back…
Paqueta now officially cleared of all charges.
