I can hear the collective sigh of relief as most Irons read this!
According to various reports today, sometimes mentioned Hammers managerial target Steve McClaren is bieng heavily linked with Newcastle this morning.
one report claims that he is to be approached by Mike Ashley boss within the next 24 hours to take over from John Carver who has seen the team fail to win in EIGHT.
McClaren saw Derby County’s Premier League bid end yesterday and they are looking at another Championship campaign next term amid fears in many quarters we were interested.
ClaretandHugh reported last year that McClaren had turned us down and was always a highly unlikely target this summer.
Now it appears he is well and truly out of the frame….PHEW!
Thank god for that, now this is the one & only time i would probably say i would prefer to keep Samasaurus, lol, the Wally with the brolly & Ashley,a marriage made in heaven, not! 😀
He is so overrated, made his name as Ferguson,s number 2 and has messed up every job since,Derby should have stood by Clough for a couple of more years,
Same as Rads I would sooner poke hot needles in my eyes but would not want to keep BFS for anything,
Newcastle are dead men walking the players have given up and the only chance they have is they are going to play against a BFS team with Nolan trying to score that family goal that’s so important to his dad
Didnt really see him coming to us. Hardly going to lift the geordies from their slump. The only team playing a bad a us since turn of the year. It would be like having sam’s boring brother in charge. Hardly set the championship alight with Derby.
Not excited about Moyes either. Hardly making a statement of intent. “We are going a top six team” really…with david moyes…??
Well Moyes doesnt exactly excite me either, but to be fair to the guy he took Everton into the top six 3 or 4 times & thats 3 or 4 more times than i can see Hippohead doing with us 😉
And there lies my problem, and I guess this makes me a moderate on this site, but if they give me Billic or Rafa, then I’m happy to wave bye-bye to Sam, however, give us Moyes or McClaren and I’m afraid I’d prefer we stuck with Sam. And there are plenty worse than McClaren and Moyes and that worries me even more.
I have to trust our board to do the right thing.
There’s only one good McLaren… It’s driven by Alonso…lol
BFS FOR FORMULA ONE
Moyes was hard done by at Manscum, wasnt given a fair chance there. A knee jerk decision i feel. Cant really judge him in La liga as only been there six months.
At old trafford he couldn’t attract good enough players, his name isn’t a big draw for players. We need a great season next year to take us into the OS & get players wanting to play for West Ham not just at OS. Will he be enough to make this happen?? His teams tend to be hard to beat but not so great at the other end.
Going to be very hard for anyone to take any club outside the current top six to that status. Such a big gap to close.
Agree with that and in particular the final paragraph Essex. It’s a huge jump as is demonstrated by us failing to stay in the top 4 and even Southamptons failure to stay top 6. Even now we are only 3 wins off Southampton and the Spuds. In actual fact Id say the big jump is into the top 5. I’d say 6th is something we can manage in the near future if the club continues to progress.
It’s not just the manager that attracts the players which is another problem for us,
To most foreign players in London alone we follow Chelski,Arsenal, and Spuds as a draw,
But the big attraction will be the new stadium, and as usual money,
All things come to an end and most teams leave it to late to move on,
Now is the time for change
We need afresh start,
Is Moyes the right person I don’t know but BFS can not stay the fans can’t forgive.
