“Medical Booked” | Saudi Deal Done for Defender

Sky Sports‘ Darmesh Sheth and Hammers ITK ExWHUEmployee are reporting that West Ham United have agreed on a deal with Saudi Pro League club Al-Orouba for defender Kurt Zouma.

It is also being reported that the French central defender is scheduled for a medical with the Saudi club following his failed assessment with UAE side Shabab Al-Ahli earlier this summer.

It is not known whether Al-Orouba’s medical requirements are less stringent than those in the UAE, but it’s fair to say everyone at West Ham is hoping this transfer deal will go through.

Claret & Hugh spoke with a high-ranking Hammers official earlier today, who was keen to stress that Zouma is still actively seeking ways to end his time at West Ham.

While still only 29 years old, it has become apparent over the last 12 months that the former Chelsea centre-back is struggling to keep up with the rigors of Premier League football. It is hoped that a slightly slower-paced league will allow the player to extend his career into his 30s.

The Hammers continue to look to offload more fringe players from the squad, but no one at the club is counting their chickens on this latest Zouma deal until it is officially confirmed.

I can’t believe so many ppl get upset about a comment on someone’s religion.
    Harden up.
Being a Vet of 22 years I’ve seen what that religion has done to the world.
But hey all good, snowflake on.

that “harden up”, “snowflake” crap is just all over the Aussie machismo isn’t it? being a vet is irrelevant. btw, i’m an Aussie and an atheist. still, not hard to show some respect though

Totally agree. Zouma has put his battered body on the line for us many times. Totally unnecessary to comment on his religion. Hopefully the club can find a solution that makes all parties happy.

Hey Deathblow, save your stupid ill advised comments for GB news and the like! He’s been a good servant for the club but unfortunately his injuries have gotten on top of him. Good luck to the bloke!

Hobbling to the mosque. No wonder the north London propaganda machine is constantly trying to label our fanbase as racist. Well done.

His religion has nothing to do with his footballing ability. Don’t drag our great club down with your prejudice..were west ham united the clues in the word. united .

Not a fan of him before he joined us and even less so after, but there is no doubt in the early days he put in some great performances and worked so well with Dawson and Oggy. Dislike him or not, it’s his utterly ruined knees that have made him unsuitable for any league in Europe.
Fingers crossed he ‘passes’ the medical. He’ll love it in Saudi and can hobble to a vast choice of mosques for Friday Prayers in a climate that will be more forgiving on arthritic knees. I bet he’d do a very decent job on the pitch too.
