Carlos Soler has completed and passed his West Ham medical ahead of his transfer from Paris Saint Germain.

The Spanish international will join the Hammers on a loan basis with an obligation to buy.

The former Valencia playmaker is a versatile midfielder who can cover a number of positions and should provide some additional creativity from the middle of the park.

Soler will take the place of James Ward Prowse who completed his Nottingham Forest medical earlier this afternoon and is understood to be completing media duties at the City Ground.

Some media sources are reporting Soler’s Irons deal to be a two year loan followed by an obligation to buy but C&H have been unable to confirm that claim.

After watching our drab no creativity performance against Bournemouth this is a real relief.

  • John Ayris says:

Can also play right back apparently, how that for versatility.

Pleased with this one, and many of the others. However considering the monies spent and the number of transfers in and out, it’s a real shame we couldn’t bring in a top level striker, as this is an area we have really struggled with. Füllkrug may make an impact and has some good qualities but we have been linked with so many who have more pace, dynamism and talent, it is such a shame we couldn’t have got one of them over the line. I also feel we may have left ourselves short on defensive cover. Hopefully some of our youngsters are able to step up and have some success. COYI

It’s a real shame the fifa generation are obsessed with pace. Harry Kane has no pace but bangs plenty of goals in. I think Fullkrug will come good.

    • Irish Hammer ⚒️ says:

Captain Spud is overrated and now plays in a farmers league. Füllkrugs lack of pace however will cost us points as his inability to get beyond a defensive line which is a requirement of a modern striker. You have no idea which generation I come from and your ageism is demeaning and disrespectful.
