Medics monitor Antonio return

West Ham may suffer a blow with doubts arising over Michail Antonio’s availability for the match against Spurs at the weekend.

The bucaneering winger/striker is in training – along with Jack Wilshere – but the medics are carefully monitoring his progress and don’t want to rush him back too quickly.

Speaking to Claretandhugh a senior source revealed that whilst he had been expected to make it for the game the medical staff and manager would make a decision towards the end of the week.

A return has not been ruled out but if the player makes it then he’s more likely to be on the bench than in the  starting line up.

Our source said: “It’s still early days and the fact is this is on the lap of the gods …or should that be the medical staff.”

Meanwhile Wilshere has been training with the squad and remains a favourite with Pellegrini who could play hom alongside Declan Rice if skipper Mark Noble fails to make the starting line-up.
