Memo to DS: Here are the midfield free agents :-)

West Ham have already shown that they know how to negotiate the free agent market!

The Hammers secured the veteran Patrice Evra from Marseille earlier this week, the defender bolstering David Moyes’ options at full-back.

However, we’re in desperate need of signing a midfielder, with Moyes’ options paper thin.

Mark Noble and Joao Mario are the current central midfielders, but Pedro Obiang, Edimilson Fernandes and Manuel Lanzini all injured.

  1. Jeremy Toulalan – Just 34, lost in France.
  2. Jan Kirchoff – Went down with Sunderland. Unable to keep a job.
  3. Alex Song – Remember him?
  4. Antonio Nocerino – Played 10 games for the Hammers in 2014.
  5. Samir Nasri – A bad boy at Arsenal. Now a bad boy without a club.
  6. Kris Commons – Won five SPL titles at Celtic. Now free of a club.
  7. Kagisho Dikgacoi – Formerly of Cardiff City and Crystal Palace.
  8. Anderson – Won the Premier League with Manchester United. Now more fat than fit.
  9. Abou Diaby – Forever injured!
  10. Mark Davies – Ex-Bolton and Wolves, Davies has over 80 Premier League appearances to his name.

  1. Its so embarrassing they really don’t help themselves

  2. Incredibly, all of these names are even less inspiring than Evra !

  3. Well Alex Song played a few good games in Claret & Blue, and that is a real area of need…. and 30 is hardly over the hill……

  4. I would take a punt on Nasri if he was going for cheap wages.

  5. Song is in London training with the Gooners should be easy to spot with his dress sense, the only one we definitely need although Nasri could be worth a few valuable points also. If Anderson has put on a load of weight as suggested should we call him stretch ?

  6. Great article Dave!
I have always been an ardent fan of Alex Song, so much so, that I wrote to Mr.Gold, strongly suggesting that West Ham offer him a permanent contract at the tie he was undecided on his future. Wrote 3 long e-mails, trying to justify my case, but sadly no reply..

  7. Nasri was brilliant but too attack-minded. We need a CDM.

  8. Memo to David Moyes: DON’T PANIC!! Sorry lads, Song was an injury-prone liability when he last played for us, and there’s always a good reason why this lot haven’t got a club???
