Pundit Paul Merson has predicted a 14th place finish for West Ham this season in the Premier League despite having one of the best transfer windows in living memory. In his bizarre prediction table he also predicts Crystal Palace as finishing in 5th place above Liverpool in 6th. He predicts Sunderland, Watford and Norwich will be relegated. Leicester,Villa,Stoke,Everton,Spurs and Southampton have all tipped been tipped to finish above us in this table on Sky Sports website.
On West Ham Merson says “When West Ham are not expected to win, they turn it on and when they have home games against teams that are going to be in the bottom half they get beat – so that needs to change. The fans need to be a little bit more patient at home. Away from home, the shackles can come off.”
It seems open season for cheap shots about the West Ham again from the so called pundits who seem to dislike us.
Who cares what the analysts & pundits think.They are asked a question,sometimes we like the answer,sometimes we dont.They are just paid for an opinion.Really dont give a sh*t what they think tbh 😉

These pundits must know you can’t really make an assessment until after about ten games. At the moment it depends whether you think the real West Ham is the team that’s played arsenal Liverpool or the team that played Leicester Bournemouth. I suppose the pundits are a bit confused and don’t know which way to swing. After those four games I would expect the average pundit not sticking their neck out to put us somewhere around mid table. I think we should be pushing towards the top six with the players we’ve got now.
He might he a halfwit but drink & drug addiction can happen to anyone.You would all do well to remember that instead of using it as a way to ridicule someone.
I have to agree with you Barry, his previous well documented problems have nothing to do with his opinions, and his conduct of late. He appears exemplary on sky News and sometimes gives acceptable views.
However as Hammers fans we will be very disappointed at this prediction. I don’t personally think we will finish lower than 9th at worst, and with luck nearer 6th as Muckracker predicts.
But, please lets not undermine our great club by stooping to so low by some of these comments.

Its surprising how underrated the club is by those not associated with it. The president of the French Football Federation even considered it embarrasing for the French that a club of our stature signed Payet, and daily, the so called pundits are doing their best to put us down.
Meanwhile, their is a quiet revolution under way. Our top midfielders like Song, Payet ,Kouyate and Obiang could walk into almost any team in the PL. We have a top manager who is getting his act together, we have the OS to look forward to, we have already begun to attract Champions League quality players, l mean there is just so much happening and falling in place. Mark my words, these likes of Merson will eat humble pie when we finish 6th, yes SIXTH.
