Mexican side confirm Hammers talks

Mexican side Chivas Guadalajara are in talks with West Ham over a friendly match in the near future.

Chivas have revealed the news themselves, with the club confirming that they have entered into negotiations with the Hammers over a potential exhibition match.

The match could take place in 2022, potentially after the end of the season, with next summer seen as a potential landing spot for the game.

Chivas have announced their partnership with the He For She movement, and to mark the occasion they welcomed the ambassador of the UK in Mexico, Jon Benjamin, in which the prospect of a game against the Irons was raised.

Chivas have been struggling somewhat in the Mexican league thus far this season and are currently 10th in the table.

They have won the Mexican league a total of 12 times, and remain one of the biggest clubs in the country.

Provided the time is right, one has to think that the Hammers would be willing to play Chivas.
