Michael Carrick won’t be the next Hammers manager!

Stories have been doing the rounds that intermediaries ( another word for agents) have been discussing whether one of the country’s most decorated former footballers could be ready to make such a move. Carrick was brought up at West Ham, having started his professional career at the club between 1999 – 2004 and making 136 appearances.

Having  moved on to West Ham he moved on to Spurs for two seasons before moving to Manchester United from where he retired in 20018. He remained as a coach until becoming manager of Middlesbrough two years ago where the team currently hold 12th place in the Championship.

There have been regular rumours that West Ham are interested which have built to a crescendo over the last couple of days as David Moyes‘ position has again come under speculation following the Hammers 5-0 defeat by Fulham. Given the former midfielder’s West Ham background it’s an easy link to make but we can reveal exclusively there is absolutely no truth in the story.

We put the question to our highest source who was only too happy to deny it in rather colourful language saying: “That is complete b…..ks. We were having half a good season till last Sunday. We have important games ahead and we need the crowd behind the team not getting caught up in nonsensical rumour mongering.”
