Michail Antonio’s future looks cut and dried.

It came as only a mild surprise to see West Ham‘s No 9 make his first TV punditry appearance last night as Liverpool drew with Fulham to enter the Carabao Cup Final on aggregate.

Antonio looks – as most would expect – looks set to become a full time media person once his time in the game comes to an end.

Michail Antonio’s future looks cut and dried

He is already involved in a weekly podcast with his mate Newcastle striker Callum Wilson and last night showed that a good future is beckoning  in front of the cameras.

Laugh-a-minute Mikey was in very good form and gave an ironic smile when asked about Kalvin Phillips’ arrival at the London Stadium.

Host Mark Chapman was interested to hear his views on the Manchester City midfielder’s decision to make the switch.

With a wry smile on his face, the Jamaica international said: “It’s the first I’m hearing of that.” before bursting into laughter.

Expect – like so many players in his position who have chosen to ignore the media during their careers – to join their ranks once retirement eventually catches up with them.

Having said that the Hammers long serving player will be a welcome addition as unlike so many he knows how to have a laugh.

Think Rio Ferdinand!
