Midfield target pens new deal

PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangare has signed a new contract with the Dutch club until 2027, per Metro.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a variety of top clubs and West Ham were the latest , with the Daily Mail claiming they were eyeing a swoop earlier on Sunday.

But it has now been confirmed that Sangare has put pen to paper on a new contract that will keep him in the Netherlands for another five years.

Sangare has won 24 caps for the Ivory Coast and was seen as a potential back-up target to Amadou Onana, who is poised to join Everton after the Hammers pulled out of the race for his signature.

The Irons are still hopeful of securing a new midfielder ahead of the close of the transfer window, with the only addition so far being Flynn Downes from Swansea City.

West Ham kick off their Premier League campaign against Manchester City on Sunday.
