West Ham left scratching their heads over midfielder claim

Reports claiming that West Ham have agreed a deal with Belgian club OH Leuven to sign midfielder Ezechiel Banzuzi appear to be premature.

The proposed agreement, rumoured to be worth £10 million upfront with £3 million in potential add-ons, has been dismissed by ExWHUEmployee today.

Ex has cited a senior source at the London Stadium who insists no deal for the 18-year-old midfielder is close.

Claret & Hugh also received similar information, suggesting that while West Ham may have approached Leuven, the Belgian club is unwilling to sell during this transfer window.

This aligns with information received last night, which indicates that West Ham are not close to completing any immediate signings.

There remains a desire to add pace to the West Ham midfield and Ezechiel Banzuzi certainly seems to have an abundance of athletic ability but as things stand, the club are claiming ignorance on this particular story.

Why is it that WHU usually make a complete fudge in the transfer market – there never seems to be any particular thought given, just a scatter gun approach in the hope that everything will work out; it’s embarrassing!
How come the likes of Forest, Brighton, Brentford and even Palace can get it right and we get it SO wrong?!

  • Chris W says:

Well it’s still going on Sky Sports as a done deal. Who knows?

Can’t be true. Ticks the youth and hidden gem boxes.

Very unlike West Ham, unless Potter and his new team are working their magic already which would be wonderful news.

I said this mick …what is the point of kritensky..absolute waste.ofvtime …he dosnt give a toss ..worst investor ever..no interest in the team at all

Mick he’s just brought Royal Mail for £3.6 billion and obviously most of his time would have been spent on that deal. I think that him buying a 27% stake in the club and paying about £180 million was massive for us, and really hope he buys Sullivan’s stake to become our biggest shareholder.

The source is Sky Sports’ Rob Dorsett. He says the medical is tomorrow. But if Ex says no, then I guess it’s no. Or has Tim been sent by the Czech sphinx on a secret mission? 😉

Someone on X who is known for saying “done deal” thinking he is some sort of ITK broke this “news” he is now back tracking ,looks like SSN believed it and ran the story

    • Gonzo says:

I’m quite certain our original story is still accurate. No dela agreed and the Belgian club do not wish to sell in this window.

  • Tom says:

The 57 million getting some nice interest in the bank account i see. Usual story no way near completion then greedy agents greedy wage demands from the player and the deal collapses. We’re saved because Sullivan taken back control of the transfer it’s a joke. Are you not tired posting this rubbish from your so called source. Another transfer wasted by incompetence.

  • TommyD says:

This seems like far too a sensible transfer for West Ham.
