Mikey admits: It’s not for me!

Mikey Antonio admits that he isn’t a fan of the Hammers’ third kit this season!

The Irons unveiled the kit before the season began and it’s fair to say that it raised some eyebrows.

A white number with an orange splash at the bottom, it does look somewhat as though the Hammers have been Tangoed.

And Mikey has now confirmed that he really doesn’t like the kit, having worn it as a substitute against Manchester United in the 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford.

Speaking on the Footballer’s Football Podcast with Newcastle striker Callum Wilson, he said: “It’s not for me, to be fair.

“It’s not the colouring and stuff like that but at the end of the day you have to wear what the club supplies!”

This seems like a pretty fair take because the kit really can be quite ugly on the eyes.

Still, if the Irons chalk up a few decent results in it, we’ll all be more inclined to pick up a replica version!

A few more results like the United one, though, and we’ll be joining Mikey in the sceptics club.

  1. It’s not for me neither. We’re going to the garish 70’s/80’s.
