Mikey Antonio returned to his best with a vengeance against Burnley and is now ready to make life hell for former boss Sam Allardyce.
The Baggies boss is a big admirer of the Hammers frontman and gave him his one and only England call-up during his limited time as Three Lions boss.
But after scoring his fourth Premier League goal of the season the No 30 is getting right back into his stride after a lengthy injury lay off.
And he was pleased that it was his good pal Pablo Fornals who laid it on for him with a fabulous assist set up in part by |Jarrod Bowen.
We look a totally different team with the Mikey coming back to his best and hopes are high that he can repeat the dose against the Baggies.
With the team’s performance lifting us the eighth in the league the sky is the limit for the Irons at this moment and Antonio is thrilled to be playing his part again.
After the Burnley win, he said: “It was a very good day. One thing we worked on in the week was our crossing and the positions we needed to be in and it worked a treat today!
Pablo is a good friend of mine and we’ve got a good connection out there, so hopefully, it can keep going.
With the celebration, basically, we were playing Call of Duty and the loser had to do a forfeit and that was my forfeit.
I must have done it well because everyone knows what I was doing, so my acting skills must be quality and maybe I’ve got a job after football!
“It’s another win, but I felt going forward we could have taken more of our opportunities. Defensively, we were unbelievably solid, so moving forward I got a goal, hopefully I can keep scoring and do better and get more goals in the games, not just for me but for all the attacking players.”
I think Mickey said that he was playing call of duty with Declan Rice not Pablo Fornals. I might be wrong.
