Mikey ready to keep fighting

Mikey Antonio is ready to keep fighting as the Hammers look to achieve their Champions League dream.

Antonio was back on the pitch on Monday night following his injury.

He scored twice at Turf Moor as the Irons recorded a major victory in the race to finish in the top four.

David Moyes’ men are now three points behind Chelsea in fourth, with just four games of the season remaining.

And Mikey is ready to give everything as the Irons look to finish in the Premier League top four for the first time ever.

Quoted by BBC Sport after the game, he said: “It would be unbelievable [to qualify for Champions League]. Everybody wants to play in the Champions League.

“I have been here a few years and there have been so many seasons we were fighting to stay in the league and now we have the opportunity for top four.

“We are not going to give up on it, it’s a dream come true. We will keep fighting, keep pushing.”

Of course, it is not in the Irons’ hands, and we must rely on Chelsea dropping points if we are to leapfrog Thomas Tuchel’s men.

Their final four games see them Manchester City, Arsenal, Leicester and Aston Villa, while the Irons take on Everton, Brighton, West Brom and Southampton.

We know which run-in we’d rather have!

  1. If we win all four, I reckon we will finish above Leicester as they have a really tough final 3 games

  2. Where was Ogbonna last night?

  3. I have a feeling that our dreams are about to be realised!
We’re going to qualify for European football against all the odds!

  4. Wow.. Antonio is just 3 goals away from being West Ham’s all time premier league top goal scorer: https://www.11v11.com/teams/west-ham-united/tab/stats/option/scorers/

    1. 47 goals – Paolo Di Canio
    2. 46 goals – Mark Noble
    3. 45 goals – Michail Antonio
    4. 41 goals – Carlton Cole
    5. 37 goals – Trevor Sinclair

Noble (who would have thought!) is the only current player higher up the scoring charts than him.
