Mikey tests positive

Mikey Antonio tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the Carabao Cup quarter-final against Spurs.

The two sides are set to face off for a place in the last four at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this evening.

Mikey has not been included in the squad at all and The London Evening Standard explains that his absence is down to a positive test for COVID.

Jarrod Bowen is instead set to play through the middle against Tottenham as the Hammers look to take one step further after beating both Manchester United and Manchester City in previous rounds.

It remains to be seen if Antonio will be able to return to play against Southampton on Boxing Day but that will likely depend on whether he can return a negative test for the virus over the next few days.

All at ClaretandHugh wish Mikey well and hopefully he recovers quickly; fingers crossed we can get the result without him!
