Milan Eye Kehrer Deadline Day Move

By Gonzo

Inter Milan are reported as being interested in approaching West Ham to sign defender Thilo Kehrer.  This follows an agreement to allow star defender Milan Skriniar to join Kehrer’s former side Paris Saint-Germain.

Upon signing for the Hammers, the German centre-back immediately went into David Moyes team, starting every game in the Premier League up until the end of December, when he fell out of favour. Despite a bright start to his Hammers career, an experiment which saw him deployed at right back failed, and he was subsequently dropped to the substitutes bench.

He returned for The Irons game against Leeds, but then went back to watching from the sidelines as the Hammers lost to Wolves and then beat Everton. That is partly due to the return of Nayef Aguerd, who has looked outstanding since coming back from injury.

Kehrer has dropped down the pecking order somewhat recently, and that’s something Inter Milan could be looking to take advantage of. Italian sports newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport claim Kehrer is one of the options they are looking at to replace Skriniar.

Whether Moyes would sanction the departure of a versatile defender given the current injury crisis at The London Stadium remains to be seen.
