Millwall to West Ham move | That’ll be an interesting transfer!

The rivalry between the two sides is legendary, one of the most bitter in football. Going way back to the origins of the two clubs and the ‘Dockers’ Derby’, the last time the two clubs met on the pitch was in the Championship season of 2011/2. Nobody will forget the 2009 Upton Park game in a hurry. I just wonder whether the fan base has evolved sufficiently to be sensible – let alone excited – about the rumours now linking a Millwall player with moves to East London.

For me, these rivalries do get out of hand: I remember one West Ham v Spurs game almost getting bitten by a police dog with a very scared handler, during the walk to the ground as some pre-match shenanigins kicked off nearby. Probably I’ll get some rebukes on the ‘comments’ section but I’ll welcome decent players to the fold, wherever they come from. It’s only a game after all……

According to footballleagueworld.co.uk, in their article “West Ham and Wolves are among the clubs keeping tabs on Millwall’s Japhet Tanganga ahead of the summer transfer window.” Delightfully he is an ex-Spurs player too- which made me smile even more – but he is a 25 year old top quality centre back who is believed to be ready for the Premier League step back up. According to the article:

“He has the physical tools to cope with the demands of the top-flight, and his positional play, reading of the game and his recovery pace has all been evident with Millwall, where he has emerged as their top defender.”

West Ham are going to have to bring in two back line reinforcements from somewhere this summer at sensible prices- especially if the rumours linking Jean-Clair Todibo with ‘that’ switch to Manchester United are true: Tanganga at about £12 million would be an attainable ‘West Ham’ signing to bolster the squad and develop him for the future.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970.. Don't take my comments too seriously, imagine we are having a chat at half time over a pint at L S and "let's disagree without falling out".

Teddy Sheringham, Tony Cottee, Lucas Neill and Paul Allen all played for West Ham and Millwall so I have no issues with players joining if they are good enough and improve our team.

He did indeed. Joined Millwall from MK Dons on 1st September 2017 and moved to us on 3rd June 2019 and stayed until 1st July 2022.

Millwall? Tottenham Hotspurs? West Ham? Anyone remember Teddy Sheringham?

Teddy was pretty good for us and for many other top teams.

No problems with taking good players wherever they come from.
