Missing Hammer little chance of Man United return

|

Missing Hammer Arthr Masuaku is still struggling to recover from the knee injury that has haunted him since last season.

The left sided midfielder was again absent from the squad which drew 0-0 with Southampton at St Mary’s  yesterday.

And he is highly unlikely to be back for the game against Manchester United on Sunday as the Irons look to extend their unbeaten start of the season.

Despite coming through two under 23 games seemingly successfully Arthur was missing from their game against Leeds which saw the boys earn a 2-2 draw.

He has now been put of first team action since the victory over Leicester City – a somewhat worrying scenario in real terms.

A source confirmed he is still attempting to make a full recovery but is “probably some way off a first team return.”

Meanwhile the under 23s continued their Premier League 2 Division 1 with a hotly-contested 2-2 draw with Leeds United U23s.

Max Dean put the hosts ahead in the first half lead but the young Hammers stuck to their task well and hit back shortly after the restart through Harrison Ashby.

The Scotland U21 international rifled in a free-kick from 25-yards to level the scores before Jamal Baptiste put Dmitri Halajko’s side in the lead with a simple finish from a corner.

Leeds, however, got back on level terms from the spot with just 20 minutes left after Baptiste felled Joe Gelhardt in the corner of the box.

Sam Greenwood stepped up to make it 2-2 and ensure the spoils were shared .

Does struggling to recover mean that his career is finely balanced and that he possibly won’t be the same player again for us?
