Mission Impossible? An ‘only West Ham 90 minutes’ please

|

By Hughie Southon

I’m praying for an “only West Ham ” moment when the Gooners arrive at the London Stadium tomorrow (Sun)

On the face of it we appear to be facing a Mission Impossible as Mikel Arteta’s title leader are set to turn up in amazing form.

But we all know that West Ham are capable of producing some special football against big teams in top form and NOW would be a brilliant time to offer such a performance.

In the meantime all we can do is look at the stats which show the Hammers have failed to win successive games since last October whilst Arsenal have registered more points wins and goals on their travels than any other team in the league.

We, meanwhile, have spent just one week in the top ten with our downfall really starting either side of the World Cup break but have subsequently taken 10 points from six games.

Fingers and everything else crossed then for that special Hammers moment.

It would be like us to beat Arsenal and Man City and lose to Bournemouth wouldn’t it. I’ll take any points. Enough to survive and a European trophy will do me just fine.
