I’m not at all sure that Chadwell Heath is at the bottom of the club’s injury problems.
But Slav’s decision to move to Rush Green is clever- it’s all about trying to put a couple of per cent on performances and protecting team spirit.
I never suffered a single issue at the training ground in my time at the club but I remember players who did blame the place. On one occasion we used the synthetic pitch and you should have heard the moans about bad backs afterwards.
Blimey, I was 35 and had no problem whatsoever, it’s psychological and because we have a clutch of injures people are looking for a reason.
I was brought up playing my football on Hackney Marshes so Chadwell Heath was brilliant by comparison! Had any of us gone in moaning to Billy Bonds or Harry Redknapp, they’d have laughed us out the place.
I can imagine that a few of the foreign players have been in to see Slav and had a little moan-up about things so to protect the squad as best he can – and also team spirit – the manager has acted.
Things may be a bit more advanced abroad and Slav did mention that one or two players had been moaning so he’s done the clever thing – move on to a place where the pitches and training facilities are that much better and exclude any reason for back biting.
In these days of sports and science it’s all about putting an extra two or three per cent on performances and if the move down the road does that then great!
I imagine Winston Reid’s injury put the tin hat on things but I remain unconvinced about the taining ground argument. We’ve had a lot of rain and guess what, grass gets wet and people slip but Chadwell Heath?
Nah I don’t think the grass there is any different to anywhere else.
Regardless of what people are saying , the fact remains we suffer too many non-match day injuries . It happens every year around this time and seriously effects our season . Be it the training ground or the training methods something is definitely wrong somewhere .
But there should be no excuses if we fail to maintain our position in the league during the next two months . We are not getting fatigued by playing in Europe ( like some other clubs )
Will the fans be more tolerant towards Bilic than they were towards Alladyce when things go pear shaped due to a ever increasing injury crisis ,,, ?. One would hope so , because a repeat of that performance from a section of the fans would surely seal our Doom .
West Ham are now being forced into playing more direct ( ring any bells ) and the results will be megga important .. Playing not to drop points is now the only way to keep us in the top half of the table untill the injury list shortens .. We have now gone six games without a win and it looks like being a repeat of last season …. Let us all hope it’s not .
Come on you Hammers .
Didn’t Moore, Hurst and Peters train there??
Don’t remember too many injuries put down to Chadwell Heath in those days!
Fully agree with moncs !!!
Been there and trained on it in days past !!!!
All the so called know alls who have been saying told you so are full of **** !!!
And moncs was a top man at west ham IMO but everyone to their own !!!!!!
MerryMichaelW – ex-pro, in inverted commas?… were you waggling two pair of fingers in a dispariging way to make the point as you thought about this? Ex pro, yes, John Moncur IS an ex pro and perfectly entitled to comment. I don’t think you are though… so best not any more, eh? Smart Arse! (Note, no inverted commas required)
Oooo #rekt
Sincerely Billy
Or… you could just not read it, MoaningMichaelW.
Personally, I like these articles – it’s good to hear opinions from first-rate ex-pros. Why you’ve felt it necessary to call John second-rate is beyond me – the guy did a service for us and is thought of fondly amongst fans, and why you felt the need to highlight “ex-pro” in that way baffles me too – he is an ex pro…
So perhaps you could tone yourself down and indulge in a little more festive spirit.
Gratefully,
Dan
I am getting increasing fed up with contributions to your site from second rate “ex-pros”.
Do you think that you could tone them down, or tune them out altogether?
Gratefully,
Michael.
Michael I hate to putit this way but I’d get rid of you before Moncs who has actually played for the club and knows the subject rather than guess. I’m equally fed up with your constant moans about who I employ and given that the site is free and doesn’t cost you a penny may I politely say: Shut Up
