More bad Bowen news

Jarrod Bowen is set to miss out on an England call-up because of his injury.

The Hammers winger has been in electric form this season and was a shoo-in to be included in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the upcoming games against Switzerland and the Ivory Coast.

Southgate is set to name his squad on Thursday but the London Evening Standard reports that Bowen is not expected to be included because those at the London Stadium do not expect him to be fit until after the international break.

England are said to have been in contact with West Ham to assess the extent of the damage.

The first scan on Bowen’s heel was clear but further scans have done nothing to help identify the problem.

It means that the ex-Hull winger is set to miss this week’s clash with Sevilla in the Europa League, as well as the derby with Spurs at the weekend. He may instead be targeting the clash with Everton on April 3rd for his comeback.

  1. That’s good news, not bad, imo. Until his injury Bowen had featured in pretty much every game one way or another. The bloke has earned a rest and doesn’t need to be poncing around playing meaningless international friendlies at this stage of the season.
