Now that the domestic season is behind them, many West Ham Internationals have thrown off their relegation despondency and head off towards the welcoming warmth of a pre-world cup training camp with their National teams – in which the ‘positivity’ overload will envelop them once again.

Hammers winger Crysencio Summerville is a wanted man by all accounts with ‘reports’ linking him with interest from Leeds, Tottenham, Liverpool, Arsenal and Roma – to name just a few.

Will he stay or will he go? Summerville’s words offer cryptic clues worthy of ‘The Times’ crossword

West Ham fans watching from the sidelines can glean useful snippets from interviews given whilst on international duty – yesterday’s Summerville comment doing little to clarify the player’s own stance on departing West Ham once the serious business of the World Cup is concluded.

Still a Hammer- if only for the time being

According to insidefutbol.com,  West Ham’s winger made it plain he still thinks of himself as a Hammer:

“I just hope we can return to the Premier League as soon as possible.  It just wasn’t good enough this season.

“But I am with the national team now and I need to move on.  It is a new team with different circumstances, so now I want to prove myself here.”

Little given away by the 24 year old, but the ‘I need to move on‘ does sound a little ominous.

Whatever ‘Cry’ decides, with the Hammers’ deteriorated finances following relegation it is more than likely he’ll be sold in any case.

West Ham’s board need to make a dent in their £190 million of transfer fee debt still outstanding, and a £20 million profit on Summerville is likely to be too tempting to refuse.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

100m of debt ,150m debt, 190m of debt. Keeps going up by the day on this site.

How about West ham sites push the narrative that the owners can and need to invest 90m, rather than sell sell sell.

20m profit on summerville is pittance if we spend multiple seasons in the championship.

Realistically we should be getting around 80m for Fernandes. Then sales of awb, jwp, jct. Alvarez. Is another 30-50m then with an injection of funds that the board promised in event of relgation debt is cleared and weve kept bowen, cry, taty, magassa, mavro. You keep them add in a mix of experonce and youth from the championship we have a chance of coming back up.

He will likely move on, but I think you might be reading too much into that comment. I Interpret it as he needs to concentrate on this new team the Netherlands while they are still in the World Cup. Afterwards, is a different matter though and why would any decent player want to stay with Sullivan and Nuno still at the helm of a rudderless ship?
