Hammers United have announced details of their next home protest outside the London Stadium.
A statement released on their website says “Hammers United announced some time ago that we would be holding another mass protest on the 29th February when we play Southampton at home, and after constructive and engaging talks with the LDDC, The Police and Newham Council, we can finally share the details.
On the 29th of February, make sure you leave home early. . . . catch that early train. . . miss that traffic. . . leave that pint on the side. . . and come and join your West Ham brothers and sisters as we rally right up to the Directors Gates and make our voices heard.
We will all come together at various meeting points along The Greenway from 1.30pm and stroll, peacefully, leisurely, and in good voice, along its length towards the London Stadium.”
Hammers United also plan a protest at Anfield on the Monday evening game by suggesting:
“We propose that we make a momentous show of strength at the Liverpool away match. It is on Sky and all the world will be watching.
We suggest the teams come out to a sea of black balloons at the West Ham end. Then our fans need to display banners, hundreds of them, more banners than in the Kop. We need a chant to show we are backing the team, not the board.”
Hammers United member numbers have swelled to over 10,000 since media coverage has grown after their first protest.
Is hammers united run by the same person that ran into the pitch with a flagpole at the Burnley game? Says it all doesn’t it.
I wish you would stop advertising these people. They know their greatest chance of taking hold like a cancer is now while we are playing the likes of city and Liverpool etc. Soon as we start playing some lesser teams and winning games these anti board people will shrink away. They are always prevalent in times like these when the team aren’t doing so well. They are probably hoping we lose and get relegated in fact so their numbers grow even more. They feed off of the team doing badly. You see them in the stadium every time we lose a game. They are the same people who walk out like rats deserting a sinking ship as soon as we go a goal or two down in a game. They are defeatists by nature and never happier than when they have something to moan about.
Not much possible at Enfield with c 1800 supporters there.
