A game of two halves ended with West Ham losing their unbeaten away record in the Premier league, to their North London rivals Tottenham.
It was West Ham that stole the lead after 18 minutes when Mohammed Kudus turned in the opening goal from a Jarrod Bowen cross.
Kulusevki equalised after 36 minutes and both teams went in level at half time.
A shrewd substitution from Ange Postecoglou who has been described as stubborn by many Spurs fans paid off when James Maddison was replaced by Pape Mata Saar.
On 53 minutes Yves Bissouma put Tottenham ahead. Then building on their supremacy, three minutes later, Son, who was always a threat saw his shot saved by Areola yet the parry deflected off Todibo into the goal. Looking to get their business wrapped up, Son scored a fourth on 60 minutes as West Ham capitulated.
A moment of madness by Kudus on the 86th minute ending with his sending off, and he will now be out of action for three games.
When the clubs back room staff look back on the analysis it was clear from this game that Areola’s goal kicks led to Spurs chances, there were errors at the back, and the team are struggling to gel and change to a counter attacking team.
There will be more questions that answers on this performance!
Eleven shots by West Ham, four of which were on target, yet that paled in comparison to the twenty two shots by Spurs, seven of which were on target.
Quite simply West Ham never showed up in the second half and some players simply shouldn’t have started.
After the game Lopetegui said to the press “We must become a better team and start to win more matches”

With a ponderous , slow midfield how does Soucek and Rodrigues start before Alverse and maybe Soler. Why not build from the back instead of lopping the ball long into the channels when you’ve got a cart horse up front who does try when he feels like it. Areola’s distribution is awful and beaten twice by your near post is poor. Whoever is the goal keeping coach really needs to work on it. Not getting a younger, fitter, striker for what ever reason is hurting us like we knew. Never wanted Loppy in the first place he seems clueless on how to get a tune out of these players. Only a matter of time before he goes if things continue like this. Maybe Noble/ Nolan or Keen May steady things . Loose against ManU and things could turn nasty.

We obviously can’t beat any of the so called big teams so it’s a relegation fight again!
Remember all the optimism of let’s get rid of Moyes and we will be in the champions league!

I don’t think he has a clue. Anyone in the crowd could have picked a better team. It’s about time that some of the youngsters were given a chance.
The youngsters are nowhere near premier league standard, they don’t even play at Championship standard is why they go out on loan.
