With the announcement that West Ham have agreed a loan deal with Brighton & Hove Albion regarding striker Evan Ferguson, there’s still more transfer business to be wrapped up in this window.
Celtic striker Daniel Cummings who I reported on in a previous article is near to signing a pre-contract with West Ham as confirmed this morning by skysportsnews.com.
26 goals in 27 games for the Celtic B team alerted a number of clubs, and Portsmouth were in advanced talks with the 18 year old before West Ham stepped in. Brighton also have reportedly made inquiries.

Brendan Rogers confirmed at a press conference yesterday that the player had not signed a new contact at Celtic, and made a swipe at players agents, stating they have a different agenda. The Scottish club could capture around £300k in cross-border competition should the deal be completed, according to the Scottish Sun. Indeed, in a sign that he may well be on his way out of the club, Brendan Rodgers has left the teen out of his starting side today just days after handing him a Champions League debut against Aston Villa.
Elsewhere, talks with French Ligue 2 club FC Lorient are still ongoing regarding Eli Junior Kroupi, (main pic) though both teams are miles apart in their respective valuations. With a reported salary of £7,100 a week, the eighteen year olds head has been turned. His contract ends in June 2026, so the French club are keen to cash in on one of their prized assets.
Evolution SC, who represent the player have allegedly been in talks with a number of clubs, including West Ham, Tottenham and Chelsea.
Scouts from West Ham were present at the Stade De Paris on Saturday, where Kroupi added to his goal haul in the 24th minute, when his team beat Red Star 2-1 to lead Ligue 2 on 43 points.
His goal tally is now an impressive 9 goals in 17 appearances with 2 assists.
The interest from West Ham has progressed, as Martin wrote earlier: An exciting prospect and one for whom it seems West Ham are prepared to push the boat out.
Don’t know why Hammers can’t get deals done until deadline day if at all. Have we not known for months we have needed a striker?
if you’d have been following closely you may have noticed we’ve changed coaches in only the last month, with the new coaches main talent scout arriving only a week or so ago. different coaching set up means the the transfer window is a totally different prospect. it may have been different if Sully had had the balls to get rid of Lopetegui in December
we showed an upturn in form during that period. Points from 5 of 6 games, if I remember right. Then two absolute drubbings broke the illusion of progress.
I’m happy we give more time to managers, it represents a preference for stability. In the big scheme of things, it isn’t going to affect things too much. It’s not like Potter’s team hasn’t been busy trying to get new additions, it’s just pushed it on till late in the window. Pretty sure we’ll get our main target, which was Ferguson, and probably at least one more prospect.
Lol , you lot!!! Such @@ you are first to break the news!!! On so many other sites before you get close!!!
