Morrison gets bail

Ravel MorrisonRavel Morrison is set to be released from prison after a judge granted a bail application.

Morrison, 21, was remanded in custody last month after he was charged with two counts of common assault.

The charges relate to his ex-girlfriend Reah Mansoor, 19, and her mother, 39-year-old Parveen Mansoor.

Morrison was remanded in custody by a district judge at Manchester magistrates court during an initial hearing last month. No pleas have been entered.

A bail application hearing was heard in private before judge Michael Henshall at Manchester Crown Court this morning.

Morrison wasn’t produced from custody to attend but bail was granted in his absence at the end of the 15-minute hearing.

No conditions of bail were revealed.

Morrison is due to appear at Manchester magistrates court again on Thursday.

West Ham United have refused to comment.
