Move for left back in January is unlikely

Italian newspaper Tuttosport has speculated that West Ham could move again for Ricardo Rodriguez during the January transfer window. The AC Milan left back joined the Italian club for €18m from Wolfsburg in 2017 but has still become unhappy. The Swiss international was previously linked with West Ham last summer.

Tuttosport claims that Rodriguez isn’t very happy at being benched and now wants out of the club in January.

The website repeats that West Ham tried to sign him on a loan for a fee of  €3m with an option to buy of €14m but were unsuccessful in their attempts.

What the report failed to mention or factor in is that Manuel Pellegrini has extended the contracts of both of his left backs in Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku.  With both tied to new long term contracts it would seem to make the likelihood of signing another left back in January unlikely.
