Moyes admires Palace model

David Moyes admits that he is a big admirer of Crystal Palace ahead of this weekend’s fixture.

The Hammers play the Eagles this weekend at the London Stadium, in their penultimate Premier League game before the World Cup.

Palace have been playing good football thus far this season and find themselves 10th, with 16 points from 12 games.

They have gone toe-to-toe with some of the biggest clubs in the league, taking a point off Liverpool at Anfield.

Palace have recruited wisely in recent years, snapping up some of the best youngsters from around a variety of English clubs; Marc Guehi, Eberechi Eze, and Michael Olise have all proved exceptionally shrewd buys.

Moyes has been a fan of the way the club are operating in the transfer market and believes this weekend brings with it a genuinely tough fixture.

Speaking ahead of the game on Friday, as per the club’s official website, he said: “I think Crystal Palace have been a side who have signed very well. They’ve built in a way that they think is right for what they’ve got and Patrick Vieira has done a really good job, playing good football.

“Roy Hodgson put good foundations in before that and they’ve always been a hard team to play.”
