Moyes admits a big fear

|

David Moyes has admitted that he’s vey concerned about the situation Jarrod Bowen finds himself in after his injury today.

The player looked in big trouble as he trudged from the pitch and was unable to do so without help from medics.

He will be having a scan tomorrow (Sun) or Monday but his involvement in the last 16 Europa Cup game on Thursday looks very much in doubt.

Things aren’t helped by the form of his replacement today – Said Benrahma – who was utterly shocking and unable to input or make any impact at all to the game.

How the manager solves the position for Thursday is impossible to work out other than to see Nikola Vlasic involved again and he has very much to prove as things stand.

Andriy Yarmolenko is clearly not an option either so we will simply have to hope that the boss is preparing to pull some rabbits out of hats.

Commenting on www.whufc.com the manager said: “Jarrod looks as though he has got an injury to his heel somewhere.

My worry is that he couldn’t bear any weight on it, so that’s a concern for me, as it would be a huge miss to be without Jarrod because he’s been so important for us.

On Declan he added: “I can’t really tell you anything more about Dec’s illness other than he felt unwell late on Thursday night into Friday morning and just didn’t feel well, so he wasn’t with us.”

He was pleased with the performance of Mark Noble saying: “Mark Noble was terrific today when he came on, and we’ve played well here without Declan Rice.”
