The one thing you can be sure of with David Moyes is that he will continually surprise you with his team selections.
On an afternoon when most would have been certain that Ben Johnson would be involved for the injured Aaron Cresswell at left back, the manager has chosen to go with three at the back.
In doing so he has left us all wondering just who is going to play down the left side and having decided on Diop, Ogbonna and Balbuena he has left Said Benrahma again to fill a position on the bench.
And then comes the biggest surprise of all, Ryan Fredericks, which may be an inspired move given his pace although I can’t recall him playing down there for either us or Fulham.
His team can only fuel the view of some that he is not the biggest admirer of the former Brentford star if a right back is preferred as a left sided midfielder to a near £30 million signing.
Red card. No way, the generals looking at the ball he’s cleared.more shocking VAR
Formals was free and on goal but Bowen didn’t pass it , same again a few minutes later for Lingard . Two easy goals that we should have scored . It’s incredible just how much we really are missing Antonio .
This one caught most of us of guard I think, hopefully Tuchel as well.. Can Vlad play down the left? Timo, Pulisic and to some extent Mount prefers to cut in from their left side, so perhaps Fredericks there to cope with pace? I cant really see eother of the CBs deployed at the left side of defense? Could we see Fornals slot down as a left Wingback? I think the latter, with both Coufal and Fredericks on right side to cooe with the pace mentioned above might just be the initial gameplan
Oh dear 3 static centre backs.I fear this is going to be park the bus time again.
Hope i`m proved wrong.
