Moyes and Steidten: Their relationship will be critical.
West Ham’s board are set to keep a very careful eye on the relationship between new technical director Tim Steidten and manager David Moyes over the next few weeks – will it be war or peace?
Quite rightly, there has been no word about how the pair plan to work together or indeed who is going to get the last word on new arrivals.
But Moyes will know who he wants this summer and Steidten won’t be arriving without a few he is keen to bring into the squad.
David Sullivan led the search for the new appointment and at the time there were widespread suggestions that Moyes could choose to leave as a result which of course didn’t happen.
He has since welcomed the new man saying: ” “On behalf of everyone at the Club, I would like to welcome Tim to the West Ham United family. He has a strong track record in elite level football and we’re really looking forward to working with him.”
These are words one will expect to hear at such a time but the board – and no doubt us fans – will be keeping a keen watching brief on things.
I hope the relationship and style of play can change to a more positive/proactive level.
I understand that yes we have had Europe for 3 years but that’s squeezing the juice out of a small bunch of players.
I’m hopeful and think Stieden will be our best signing

We always seem to be on alert for the worst outcome. Maybe David Moyes will embrace the change and take the chance to lead us further towards the promised land. Just maybe, eh Hugh? Three consecutive years in Europe and more than £100mn for Rice is a pretty good start.
Yeah indeed but sometimes questions need asking. Not a criticism Dirk
