Moyes anxious for Zouma

|

David Moyes is unhappy that new signing Kurt Zouma has been entirely ignored by Didier Descamps after the France manager announced his squad for the game against Belgium in the Nations League semi-final during the international break.

Zouma has been outstanding since arriving at West Ham making his absence from the squad bizarre after hhe was involved whilst at Chelsea.

At a purely self interested club level it maybe good news for the Irons but it really is very odd that a guy who has been playing out of his skin should be dropped from the squad entirely.

And as www.Hammers News points out, Deschamps  turned his back on Dimitri Payet and at one stage said he should have joined a bigger club than West Ham.

Deschamps has left Zouma out of the France squad to face Belgium in the Nations League semi-final during the October international break.

The decision to drop Zouma as soon as he had signed for West Ham has concerned Moyes who said he hopes Deschamps has not turned his back on the defender.

He said: Moyes said in his pre-Brentford press conference : “I would hope not because that’s why we are trying to challenge the top teams because I want to be right there at the top and those players can show they are good enough to play for the international teams,”

Kurt has played really really well for us. He’s been a colossus in the games he has played so his form will not go unnoticed. I think it is a National League game so maybe that is a reason for it.

“Maybe it is the quality of the centre-halves France have got. When I signed him I knew we were taking a French international centre-half who have an incredible quality of centre-halves and he has not disappointed us from what we have seen so far.”
