David Moyes has drafted in highly impressive but near ‘unknown’ Under 23s central defender Goncalo Cardoso into the squad travelling for the game at Bramall Lane this evening.
The 19 year old Portuguese player was signed by Manuel Pellegrini and has been in fine form all season for Dmitri Haljako’s team who are flying along at the top of Premier League 2 Division 2 unbeaten this season.
And it seems as though he has taken the place of Winston Reid who we understand has been exclduuded from the game in Sheffield.
We are told that both Aaron Cresswell and Mark Noble are also included as the Hammers look for a third successive win after victories over Bournemouth and Gillingham since David Moyes’ arrival.
However, it remains to be seen whether the boss sticks with his three at the back formation with Balbuena or Diop giving extra cover behind Pablo Zabaleta who is his only option on the right side.
Possible line-up: Fabianski; Zaba, Diop, Oggy, Balbuena, Masauku, Rice, Noble Fornals, Anderson, Haller.
