Moyes challenge begs three questions

David Moyes claims he wants more from his squad players but that challenge begs three questions.  If they rarely get opportunities how can they do so, what about Maxwel Cornet and were such signings good enough in the first place?

It’s very hard not to agree with the general Moyes sentiment on the subject and certainly, as mentioned, Ings and Benrahma really haven’t shown a thing this season. We can also take a good look at Konstantinos Mavropanos who has had a couple of shockers recently.

There is however a big question surrounding Cornet  who has been given next to no chances despite being a £17 million signing from Burnley and a player who Moyes at that time claimed he could play anywhere across the front line. This is not the first time Moyes has spent a bunch of money on a player then given him no time to prove himself in claret and blue.

Who can ever forget Nikola Vlasic – a £25 million buy – who got next to no opportunities although more than Cornet.

Then there was the thoroughly awful striker Jordan Hugill who has had four loans and is currently on his second permanent club at second off bottom Championship club Rotherham since leaving West Ham three years ago.

It more than makes you wonder!
