Moyes comfortable over Defoe speculation

defoe7defoe7jermain-defoeSunderland Manager David Moyes insists he is comfortable about speculation linking his star striker with a move to West Ham, however he says he has received no calls from Slaven Bilic and says his player is under contract for the next three and a half years anyway and is vital to them avoiding relegation.

Moyes told reporters: ‘I’m comfortable with other people talking about Defoe. His stats show he’s the best British goalscorer this year, so I expect people to be paying attention, but I’ve had no phone calls from Bilic and there’s no need for us to talk or worry about it.  He’s under contract for the next year-and-a-half and he stays here — it’s the biggest thing for us. He is vital. To stay up you need a striker who can get you goals regular, and we’ve got that.”
