Moyes confirms Bowen blow

David Moyes has confirmed that Jarrod Bowen sustained an ankle injury.

The right winger missed the clash with Silkeborg last night, although it is debatable as to whether he would have played in the game, given that Moyes rotated his XI for the Europa Conference League encounter.

Bowen was not even on the bench, though, and Moyes has now revealed that he needs to be assessed ahead of the clash with Manchester United on Sunday.

Of course, the England international has begun to find some form so if he does have a serious injury, it cannot have come at a worse time.

Moyes has somewhat allayed fears over a long lay-off but there is the potential that Bowen will miss the clash at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Speaking after the 1-0 win at the London Stadium on Thursday, the boss told reporters, as per Football.London: “Jarrod Bowen had a bit of an ankle injury. I will asses it tomorrow, see how he is.

“I don’t know yet, I don’t think it’s too bad but we will see tomorrow.”

Bowen has scored twice in the league thus far this season.
