Moyes confirms Soucek blow

David Moyes has confirmed that Tomas Soucek could be an injury doubt for this week’s clash with FCSB in the Europa Conference League.

The Czech Republic international is said to have picked up a foot injury during the clash with Chelsea at the weekend, and as a result there is a “question mark” over his availability against the Romanian side.

It also remains to be seen if he will be fit to play against Newcastle this weekend, as Moyes has not clarified that.

Elsewhere, the Hammers boss has said that Craig Dawson is back in training, but that both Aaron Cresswell and Ben Johnson remain out.

Nayef Aguerd is also out of his protective boot and is set to speak to a specialist today in order to clarify the next steps of his return.

Speaking at his press conference ahead of the Conference League game, Moyes said, as per Football.London: “Dawson is back in training today, finding his way back in. Johnson is not training yet, Cresswell still out. Soucek picked up a foot injury against Chelsea so he could be a question mark.

“Nayef returned back on Tuesday, out of his boot. Seeing the specialist today. It looks good at the moment.”
